Cardiovascular (CV) Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) - FIELD BASED (Los Angeles, California)
Job Highlights:
The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) role is a commercial field-based position focused on working closely with Cardiovascular (CV) Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) as the SANOFI products expert. TLLs help coordinate commercial activities across functions, ensure aligned KOLs are engaged in key brand messaging and commercial strategy and gauge KOL alignment with commercial brand strategies. TLLs gather KOL insights that are used internally by marketing to refine commercial strategies and customer engagement. This role works closely with field and home office-based colleagues in Marketing, Medical, Sales, and other internal functions, as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
Create thought leader engagement plans for geography in alignment with the US national thought leader strategy. Once in the field, provide local customer insights to update and track plan performance
Develop a strategy to engage with thought leaders involved with CV professional societies and advocacy groups
Identify, profile, cultivate and maintain long-term business relationships with national, regional, and/or local thought leaders within the CV community
Conduct on-label conversations focused on topics aligned with the scientific and commercial platform at all venues when engaging thought leaders leading to drive advocacy
Collaborate with commercial and medical affairs for training and onboarding of thought leader consultants, advisors, and other relevant roles using approved company materials (revised below)
Collaborate with key stakeholders including commercial and medical affairs to help support and coordinate commercial advisory boards and consultant meetings as directed by leadership
Serve as the single point of contact to address thought leader issues when directed by headquarters
Meet regularly with marketing, sales, and medical counterparts to ensure coordination of assigned thought leader engagements
Orchestrate engagements between thought leaders and Executive level personnel from SANOFI
Marketing Liaison:
Provide input and feedback on CV Franchise and brand-related marketing strategies and materials
Monitor KOL opinions about current and future treatment patterns that may impact the Afib treatment and provide feedback for consideration in the development of brand strategic plans and customer engagement
Execute U.S. HCP marketing communications plan and the thought leader strategy which includes identification of key market issues and opportunities, critical success factors and brand strategies
Assist in development of external HCP communication strategies that will ensure brand awareness and well understood across the U.S. including input on the scientific and commercial message platform
Help develop and refine the scientific platform and when appropriate, promotional messages, to ensure organizational consistency, relevancy, factual accuracy, effectiveness and understanding
Provide ongoing feedback on market intelligence and activities to commercial leadership on relevant topics determined by SANOFI through thought leader engagements
Provide input into marketing and sales directed activities such as advisory boards, consultantships, and headquarter and field training programs
Assist in the planning and recruitment of KOLs for commercial advisory boards including recommendations for advisory board participants based upon meeting objectives
Professional Conferences and Key Accounts:
Assist in development of professional congress strategic plan and advocacy plan
Attend national, regional, and local conferences to engage thought leaders with on-label discussions
Support implementation of company sponsored events such as Marketing Product Theaters, symposium, and media by recommending and training speakers, as appropriate
Present company sponsorship opportunities for regional and local conferences
Engage thought leaders at key accounts identified by SANOFI and provide on-label conversations to support product coverage, availability, and use of dronedarone (when approved by the FDA)
Qualifications:
BS/BA required, Master's degree or other advanced degree is a plus
Experience in the CV disease area – either in marketing or field roles
Marketing and Launch experience preferred
A minimum of five years of work experience in one or more of the following: field sales, product marketing, or medical / clinical experience in the same or related therapeutic area within the pharmaceutical / biotech industry
Strong interpersonal skills, highly collaborative, and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across company functional areas
Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams toward a shared vision
Ability to present ideas effectively to individuals and groups, developing and delivering the presentation to the needs of the audience
Strong project management skills and experience, including superior analytical and planning skills
Experience and ability to manage budgets
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to execute against strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines
Work within label, and regulatory and legal compliance guidelines
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel for thought leader engagements, meetings, training, and other relevant programs
Travel requirement will vary based upon geography but could be up to 60% including overnight stays
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof that you have received the full vaccine dosage (two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or the single J&J dose).
