The Swiftwater, PA site is an end-to-end vaccine manufacturing site which includes both upstream drug substance manufacturing (seed and vaccine antigen manufacturing), as well as downstream drug product manufacturing (formulation, filling, inspection, and packaging). The site is located on over 500 acres. The Vaccines Industrial Affairs Rotational Program is a 2-year, cohort-based program with a new class starting each June (based on graduation date).
What does it mean to be in the Vaccines Industrial Affairs Rotational Program?
The Vaccines Industrial Affairs Rotational Program is an accelerated entry-level leadership development program to develop future leaders in our vaccines manufacturing division in Swiftwater, PA. The program provides an opportunity to gain a broad understanding of Vaccines Industrial Affairs in Swiftwater, PA over a two-year period through 6-month rotational assignments. You will have one rotation in a production area, one rotation in a quality area, and two rotations in other functional areas during the program. You will be exposed to the latest biopharmaceutical technologies while refining and expanding your project management skills and applying engineering skillsets to a variety of projects and process improvements. In addition, you will learn about the commercialization lifecycle of our products and get to see the industrialization of new products and processes on site.
The rotational program prepares associates for roles of increasing responsibility through formal and informal learning, regular formal feedback, and formal and informal mentoring. Program associates will have the opportunity to interact with senior leadership and participate in various key initiatives beyond the average employee experience.

You will:
Learn about Sanofi’s organization, culture, and the Swiftwater site, while learning comprehensively in each of your rotations
Receive ongoing feedback, support, and guidance from your assigned mentor and rotation managers
Receive highly structured performance reviews on an annual basis
Learn about the vaccine manufacturing process from hands-on experience on the shop floor while working alongside seasoned technicians
Have regular opportunities to interact with experienced personnel, including senior leadership
Be able to participate on project teams working to solve complex problems and overcome challenges
Build a network across site through and outside rotational assignments
Gain realistic job previews to assist with choosing and furthering your career path
Have opportunities to train/orient personnel to perform tasks by strictly adhering to SOP, SWI, Federal regulations, cGMP, Sanofi Pasteur US policies and procedures and safety standards
The VIA Associates who participate in the rotational program are accountable for:
Leveraging formal education to acquire working knowledge, understanding of in-depth concepts, and practical, hands-on experience of the biological manufacturing process at our Swiftwater manufacturing site
Utilizing formal education to showcase knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors conducive to leading in a team-based environment
Active project team collaboration and participation using independent judgement and discretion
Basic Qualifications
A strong desire and motivation to develop a career as a future leader within manufacturing at our industrial vaccine manufacturing site in Swiftwater, PA.
Completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in December 2021, Spring 2022 or a recent college graduate within 2 years
BS / BA / MS degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business or related is required
3.0GPA (on a 4.0 scale) is a minimum requirement
Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities in academic and non-academic experiences
Previous internship, related work, and/or co-op experiences strongly preferred
Must have permanent US Work Authorization
